Non-glottal-stopped vowels are the normal vowels or vowels without the ‘ symbol. These are the non-glottal stopped vowels – Aa Ee Ii Oo Uu. We used the phrase non glottal-stopped vowels to emphasise our endeavour to teach the pronunciation of the normal vowels or short vowels in the alphabet correctly by emphasising that they are not vowels with glottal stop sound or symbol in front of each of them. They have to be pronounced without any glottal stop symbol, despite it being taught in schools for years to be incorrectly spelt as glottal-stopped vowels.
